Full-Service Fixer & Production Support for arte Documentary in Southern Spain
From initial research to final shoot, POPULAR PICTURES delivered end-to-end fixer and production support for a high-end investigative documentary for broadcaster arte, filmed across Andalusia and the Strait of Gibraltar.
In preproduction, we laid the groundwork with detailed research, authority liaison, location scouting, permit clearance, and coordination of access to law enforcement and specialised anti-drug units operating on land and at sea.
On location, we accompanied the German film crew throughout filming in highly sensitive environments, supporting real patrol shoots and interviews. Our role included on-site coordination between authorities and the crew, real-time translation during filming, conducting and facilitating interviews, and guiding the team through complex logistical and cultural contexts in Southern Spain.
By bridging production, language, and institutional interfaces, we ensured smooth operations and enabled authentic access under demanding conditions.
